WHAT DID I DO THIS WEEKEND? I went to the Belmont with my friend Ben. I had never been to a Triple Crown horse race before, and hadn't been to any track in at least a few years, so it was a blast. We lost some money betting on ponies - the only bet we won was a measly $2 on Afleet Alex winning the big race. We did come very close on one of our trifecta picks but considering we made several bets that's probably not that impressive a feat. The funniest part of the day was when the horses were riding by on their way to the gate. Lots of people were shouting encouragement, things like "Let's go, Giacomo!" or "Come on, Jeremy!" (Jeremy Rose was Afleet Alex's jockey. So my friend Ben screams, "Come on, Dad!" I don't think anyone else got it but I sure enjoyed it.
