WEEKEND RECAP: Saturday I had one of those days where I was convinced that I was going insane. I schlepped all the way out to Brooklyn to make some copies of my stand-up tape at Andy Vastola's apartment. When I got there after a 40-minute trip I realized I had forgotten the master copy. This was especially frustrating because I had done the exact same thing a few weeks ago when I went to my friend's office to make copies of my tape. Andy was nice enough to let me come back the next day and make copies then, but still, annoying. Then, Saturday night, I got off the subway in Chinatown, where I was going to a friend's birthday party. After about five minutes I became convinced I was walking in the wrong direction and asked somebody which direction Thompson Street was in. She confirmed my suspicion, and I turned around. After about ten more minutes I realized I had actually been walking the right way in the first place. Under normal circumstances I would have been annoyed but given what had happened that afternoon, I was boiling mad. Then the song "Maniac" by Michael Sembello came on my iPod and I had to laugh.
