THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The new subway trains in New York are nicer than the old ones but there are some annoying things about them too. Like when the train comes to a stop between stations and the computerized voice comes on and says, "We apologize for the unavoidable delay." Gee, thanks, HAL, that was very sincere. Also, how did he know it was unavoidable? He's pre-recorded! What if the delay could have been avoided and he's just assuming? You never hear him say, "Sorry, we f-ed up. Our bad."
