NEWS: Went home to Philly this weekend for the Jewish holidays. As Steve Cohn would say, "Yay!"
OBITUARIES: Singer Robert Palmer, famous for hits such as "Addicted to Love", passed away on Friday at the age of 54. The coroner's office determined that Palmer died from a "bad case of loving you."
SPORTS: The Eagles got their first win of the season
today, the Phillies played their final game at the Vet, my fantasy
football team is in danger of dropping to 0-4, and I will find out
tomorrow if my fantasy baseball team won the league championship. Also
I am reading "Moneyball" by Michael Lewis, an excellent book even if
you're not a baseball fan.
ENTERTAINMENT: Lots of interesting guests on
late-night TV this week. Monday night, Randy Newman will be performing
on Letterman with the New York Philharmonic. Tuesday night, Howard Dean
is on the Tonight Show - as much as I hate Leno, it will be interesting
to see how he sucks up to Dean. Wednesday night a very funny comedian
who I've performed with a few times, Mike Birbiglia, is on Kilborn.
Then on Thursday Jack Black, who, along with Will Ferrell, Norm
MacDonald, Steve Martin and Dave Chappelle, is one of my Top 5 favorite
talk show guests, is on Conan. You can check out the line-ups for all
the late night shows at The Late Night TV Page.
EDITORIAL: Thanks to everyone for checking out the
blog so much recently, and especially for all the nice e-mails and
Shout Outs I've been receiving. Sorry I have so little funny to say
today. I'll try to do better tomorrow.
